Carrie Underwood has found her leading man for 'The Sound of Music'. 'True Blood' actor Stephen Moyer has been cast as decorated World War I hero Captain Georg Von Trapp opposite the country music star's Maria Von Trapp.
The forthcoming three-hour live holiday production will air December 5th on NBC and follows a woman (Underwood), who leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the children of a Naval officer widower (Moyer). While Moyer has tons of acting experience and has even worked on Broadway, all eyes will be on Underwood, a relative newbie, who has huge shoes to fill given Julie Andrew's iconic performance.
