Artists take the independent route when there to avoid the dreaded 360 deals, to simply take more control of their career or when there is no longer interest from major labels. I'll let you speculate on which applies to Faith Evans, but one thing is clear, her career has suffered from lackluster promotion and an increasingly tight budget.
